We welcome luthier Roger Morillo to our repair department. Roger has special experience and techniques in the following:

  • Re-fret all stringed instruments.
  • Set up: guitars, basses, classic guitars, banjos and mandolins.  There are two types if set ups for electric instruments: (1) The first includes cleaning fingerboards, cleaning potentiometers, adjustment of Truss Rod, the pickups and the bridge. (2) The second is only setting the intonation of the bridge.
  • Nut and saddle replacement: bone or other material.
  • Potentiometers Replacement: change of potentiometers of 250K, 500K, & 25K (active pickups and piezo traducers)
  • Installation of all types of switches
  • Installation of ¼ jacks and or other modifications
  • Fret leveling: sometimes it is not necessary to change the frets, they can be leveled and re crowned to give them a new look.
  • Fingerboard Replacement.
  • Reglue bridges on acoustic guitars.
  • New pickup Installation: also installing switches to vary the sound of your pickups, such as coil taps.
  • Piezo pickups Installation for acoustic and electric guitars.
  • Installation of new bridges: installation of Floyd Rose Tremelos or any type of bridge
  • Broken peghead repair.
  • Generally any restoration or modification of stringed instruments.

Most recently Mr. Morillo has completed work on my most favorite  guitar, an H575 Custom Heritage, Hollowbody. Hola Roger -- Usted ha logrado lo que no podrian hacer los otros. Perfecto! I wish that this guitar had this nice of a sound when I bought it new, I would have saved a lot of money!   Your excellent attention to the details of the set up have  made the biggest difference.  The addition of the T-O-M bridge makes this  instrument sound like I want it to sound, very nice  very jazzy and with a  distinct singing voice.  The unamplified response of this instrument is  also  SO much better than before, playing it unamplified also  sounds just right.  I think that there is no other instrument that  could be a better guitar than this H575, no matter the price.  I now have  a  COMPLETE instrument! Please use me as a reference for others who  are considering your work. Indeed you have the right to refer to yourself  as a Master of the Craft. Thank you for helping, this effort has been in the works since 2002 when I bought this guitar.

Roger Morillo Guitars are GREAT!!! Having been a die-hard Gibson fanatic for 20 plus years, I recently purchased one of Roger Morillo's guitars. It was an excellent investment, and plays like a dream. The custom Lindy Fralin pickups are fantastic and produce amazing tones with the design and construction of the guitar. The fret board and neck are superb, and the guitar overall is a work of art to be admired, not just played--and playing it is pure joy. Roger is a terrific luthier and technician, and has worked on several of my Gibsons. His guitars and basses are top quality, and better than many other well-known guitars on the market today. I highly recommend the Morillo instruments, and not just because I know him personally--they truly are OUTSTANDING instruments.
